Attending The Kentucky Derby For The First Time?
Planning to attend the Kentucky Derby for the first time this year and wonder what information you should know ahead of time?
One important thing to note is that the race is not just a race, it’s also a fashion extravaganza. Everywhere you look, you’ll see stunning outfits and big hats! There’s a lot of walking involved so if you’re wearing shoes that are more fashionable than comfortable, it’s advised to bring a pair of comfortable shoes with you, just in case.
The Kentucky Derby pulls in a large, energetic crowd each year. Track attendance is typically more than 150,000 people, which means patience is necessary. According to the Kentucky Derby’s website, “veteran attendees agree that the best approach is simple to ‘roll with it.’”
