Adele’s next album may be titled “45.”
The “Someone Like You” singer announced Saturday that she will take an “incredibly long” break from music after getting engaged to Rich Paul.
“I’m not the most comfortable performer, I know that, but I am very f–king good at it, and I have really enjoyed performing for nearly three years now, which is the longest I’ve ever done and probably the longest I will ever do,” she told her audience during the 10th and final show of her Munich residency.
Noting that she still has 10 dates of her Las Vegas residency to complete in the coming weeks, Adele told her fans, “After that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break.”
The Grammy winner, 36, then choked up as she admitted she needs to “rest” and take some personal time.
“I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it now,” she said through tears. “I want to live my new life that I’ve been building.”
The news comes less than a month after Adele confirmed longstanding rumors that she and Paul, 43, are betrothed.
After spotting a Munich concertgoer holding a sign with a marriage proposal on it in early August, the superstar said, “I can’t marry you because I’m already getting married” before flashing her engagement ring.
Adele and the sports agent, 43, have been a couple since the summer of 2021.
The “Hello” vocalist was previously married to entrepreneur Simon Konecki from May 2018 to March 2021.
The former couple share an 11-year-old son named Angelo.
Adele last released an album, “30,” in November 2021. She began her “Weekends with Adele” shows in Vegas the following year.
